From a small Austrian company to market leader. Specialising in the production of protective transport packaging made of EPS, the impressive and successful history of HIRSCH Servo began in 1972.

With innovative masterpieces, technological progress and the striving for perfection, the group of companies has dedicated itself to constant expansion and internationalisation. Globally active and regionally rooted. And this is still the case today.

1972

Start-up of HIRSCH Porozell GmbH in Landskron/Carinthia.

1976

Company relocated to Glanegg/Carinthia.

1985

Start of internationalization with HIRSCH Machinery.

1989

Entry into the insulation market.

1990

Plant rebuilt after fire in Glanegg/Carinthia.

1992

Thermozell Entwicklungs- und Vertriebs GmbH formed.

1995

First step towards Eastern Europe by forming the Hungarian subsidiary.

1997

IPO of HIRSCH Servo AG.

2000

HIRSCH Machinery and Plant Engineering Competence Center built.

2002

Expansion of Hungarian activities at two further production sites.

2003

Start of the first production in Poland.

2005

Another production facility is set up in Poland.

2006

Start of production in Slovakia and Romania.

2009

Further expansion in Slovakia.

2010

Production of modular boards for underfloor heating in Poland.

2014

Herz Beteiligungs Ges.m.b.H. new majority shareholder.

2016

HIRSCH Porozell buys three insulation manufacturing plants in Romania.

2017

HIRSCH Porozell TOV launched in Ukraine.

2018

Acquisition of seven insulation production facilities in Germany.

2019

The competence centre for molded pulp is set up in Glanegg/Carinthia.

2020

Expansion into France with the acquisition of six insulation production facilities and a shareholding at Isossol SAS.

2020

Acquisition of the Czech EPS and molded pulp manufacturer and recycling specialist Novopol s.r.o. with two plants.

2021

Acquisition of the Czech packaging specialist Morapal s.r.o. with two production sites.

2022

The HIRSCH Servo Group celebrates its successful 50th anniversary.

2022

Acquisition of the Slovakian molds specialist INGMETAL s.r.o. and the Slovenian machine builder Koviflex d.o.o..

2023

Acquisition of the precision components manufacturer HPC Produktions GmbH in Seeboden/Austria.

2023

With the acquisition of the German machinery manufacturer Erlenbach GmbH, HIRSCH becomes the world market leader in particle foam technology.

2023

Acquisition of XPS insulation production facility in Tunari/Romania.

2023

Acquisition of the Czech injection molding manufacturer Renostav spol. s.r.o.

2024

Acquisition of the Polish insulation manufacturer TYRON Sp. z o.o.

2025

Consistent presence of the technology division as hetech group.

2026

Expansion into Bosnia: Acquisition of a 60% stake in insulation manufacturer Terrasit Insulation.

1972

Kurt Hirsch, founder of HIRSCH Servo Group, with the first EPS beads to be processed.

1976

Relocation from Landskron to Glanegg/Austria.

1985

Start of the production of machines and plants with the foundation of HIRSCH Maschinenbau GmbH and 1st participation in the world's largest plastics trade fair K in Dusseldorf.

1989

Entry into the insulation industry with the production of modular boards for underfloor heating.

1990

Complete rebuilding of the entire production after a devastating major fire.

1992

Introduction of Thermozell's thermal insulation lightweight concrete products.

1996

Opening of insulation production in Hungary and first step in Eastern expansion.

1997

Press conference on the IPO of HIRSCH Servo AG.

2000

Establishment of the competence centre for machinery construction in Glanegg/Austria.

2002

Expansion of the production facilities in Hungary.

2003

Start of production in Poland.

2006

Start of production in Slovakia and Romania.

2017

Production starts in Ukraine.

2018

Expansion to Germany through the acquisition of 6 insulation production facilities.

2019

Opening of the molded pulp competence centre in Glanegg/Austria.

2020

Acquisition of 6 insulation production plants and the Isossol shares in France.

2021

Acquisition of the Czech EPS and molded pulp processor and recycling specialist Novopol s.r.o. with two plants (2020) and the packaging specialist Morapal s.r.o.
