20 Years of HIRSCH Porozell in Romania

HIRSCH has been producing in Romania since 2006. The first plant in the Cluj area has grown into five sites that supply the entire country.

The first Romanian production facility went into operation in 2006, manufacturing EPS insulation for the construction sector in a market that was beginning to grow rapidly. One principle applied from the start: produce where our customers build. In 2016, HIRSCH acquired three further insulation plants in the country. In 2023, the acquisition of a plant in Tunari marked our entry into XPS. And in 2026, the existing site in Timișoara is being converted for molded pulp production.

The Romanian sites process EPS, XPS and molded pulp. The products include façade and interior insulation, system panels for underfloor heating, transport packaging and pool system components. Offcuts and production residues are returned to the manufacturing process under controlled conditions.
