We are determined to protect our planet and minimize our ecological footprint. We achieve this through the use of state-of-the-art technologies and a deeply rooted responsibility for our environment. Our ecological initiatives
Energy efficiency actions
We are reducing our energy consumption and CO2 footprint through measures such as the replacement of compressors in Glanegg and leak detection in compressed air and steam pipes. We have installed photovoltaic systems at the sites in Glanegg, Seeboden (Austria) Lautert (Germany) and Podolinec (Slovakia), which contribute to our own electricity supply. Further photovoltaic systems are planned in Béziers (France) and Ebrach (Germany). Programmes for the efficient use of water resources and the protection of water sources are implemented in order to optimize water consumption and maintain water quality.
Sustainable supply chain & infrastructure
We use guidelines and audits to ensure that our suppliers adhere to sustainable practices, focusing on European producers. Investments in sustainable technologies reduce energy consumption, minimize waste and promote environmentally friendly production processes.
Footprint, decarbonization & renewable energy
We pay particular attention to reducing our corporate carbon footprint and product carbon footprint. We are implementing comprehensive decarbonization measures to maximize our contribution to climate protection and sustainably reduce our CO2 emissions. Investments in renewable energy sources (biomass) and continuous improvements in energy efficiency in operating facilities and processes are also key measures.
EPSolutely & Operation Clean Sweep®
The HIRSCH Servo Group is involved in the EPSolutely research project to establish a circular economy for EPS and in the Operation Clean Sweep® program to minimize microplastics and plastic pollution.
Transparency in the value chain
Measures are implemented to create transparency throughout the value chain in order to identify and minimize potential environmental impacts through collaboration with suppliers, transport companies and other partners.
Our goal
The closed loop
The implementation of effective circular economy models includes the reuse of resources, recycling practices and strategies to avoid and minimize waste. We actively collect EPS packaging in the surrounding area of our sites, recover offcuts of EPS insulation materials from construction sites and reintegrate them into our production process. We also produce 100% recycled raw material from used EPS packaging at our plant in Ceska Skalice (Czech Republic). You will find a selection of our activities and initiatives below.
